  • Festival Fever

With summer soon to be approaching (fingers & toes crossed) it seems everybody is, once again, getting is the festival spirit! With festivals across the country what better excuse is there to kick back in the sun for a weekend – and buy a whole new wardrobe!

Having never been to a festival before I may not have an accurate perception of what they really entail (toilet horror stories?!) but I can imagine a laid back, chilled atmosphere and a warm sunny day.

Here’s a look I’ve put together from New Look for the occasion:

Black Chain Woven Sandals - £19.99: Although I love the gold version of these the black would show up the dirt far less! Love the chain detail on these.

Dusty Pink Guipure Vest - £19.99: How cute is this! I love the crochet detailing & the light pink hue of this, it would be fab with light blue skinnies/jeans too if the weather turns a bit colder!

Navy Zip Hoody with Ears - £14.99: It being England the chances are the weather will get cold, especially at night, so this is a super cute way to keep warm but stay fashionable! Plus it will no doubt be a conversation starter, especially after a few drinks.

Cross Embroidered Blue Jean Shorts - £22.99: SO IN LOVE WITH THESE. How cute are they? I need a new pair of shorts and have been trying to find a style of clothing to wear that features crosses but doesn’t make me look too religious! These are rock & roll at its finest.

What do you wear when you head to a festival?

  • Rock and Roll

A product that promises to give you fabulous hair even after a full night of tossing and turning in bed is bound to be a winner for me! So when I spotted Umberto Giannini Glam Hair – Grunge Glamour Tousled Salt Spray whilst shopping the other day I knew I had to at least give it a try!

Though I did question the bottle shape.

The first thing I noticed was how amazing this product smelt, I have tried salt sprays before and they smelt like the cockle sheds in Leigh-on-Sea in the summer. But this has almost a fruity scent to it and is much more pleasurable to use!

I know a few people have not felt that this product works but you really need quite a few pumps to get it into the hair so it can work its magic. I have naturally curly hair but wanted to use this after I had straightened it to give it a bit of volume and to also rock the “oh this? I just jumped out of bed!” look. Im not disappointed either. This really does give my hair texture and volume. It’s great for when you’re creating a top knot as it really boosts the roots and lessens the need for backcombing (whilst also avoiding the scrapped back, ‘Botox’ bun).

Really looking forward to trialling this product on more looks in the future.

Umberto Giannini products are currently 3 for £12 at Boots, or this product is £5.61.
